We found the Samson C01U Pro USB Studio Condenser Microphone to be a very good microphone. It has lots of customization options, incredible sounds and a really good audio system as a whole. People that like recording audio will have a blast using it, as it works extremely well and it offers you a stellar set of features for the price!
Most people tend to look for a condenser microphone that’s not very expensive, yet which gets the job done quickly and with really good performance. That can be very hard to access sometimes. In fact, you will rarely find something like this at the around $100 price point or less than that. But the Samson C01U Pro USB Studio Condenser Microphone does bring in front some really good options, and it’s the type of experience that you will enjoy quite a lot due to that reason alone.
The Samson C01U Pro doesn’t look extremely impressive. It looks pretty much like a regular microphone, although it does have a premium look that you will appreciate quite a bit. They also included a stand in the package. But the stand is rather basic and it won’t stop any potential table trembles or stuff like that. It works in theory, but it can definitely be adjusted here and there in order to get some better results as a whole. It’s still worth it, that’s for sure, and you should totally check it out.
The large 19 mm diaphragm has a simple purpose here, and that is to give you a very high-quality audio quality. Another thing to note is that the headphone output is heavily optimized for zero-latency monitoring. As a result, the input clarity is pristine every time. The supercardioid pickup pattern does wonders, and it certainly brings in front some rather unique features that you will enjoy quite a lot all the time.
You will also notice the fact that there’s a smooth, flat frequency response of around 20 Hz – 20 kHz. It’s very good for sure, and it definitely brings in front a unique set of benefits each time you use it. The microphone works at around 16 bits and it features a 44.1/48 kHz resolution.
The unit is plug and play, it doesn’t require any software installation. As long as you have Windows or Linux installed, it will work right off the bat. It worked great for VOIP applications, digital audio workstations, online chat and a variety of other situations. The USB connectivity is pristine and I found that the Samson C01U Pro USB Studio Condenser Microphone is really good when it comes to showing you the peak sounds via a dedicated LED. The die-cast construction is great too, and you do have a heavy gauge mesh grill that’s very powerful and extremely suitable for a situation like this.
